Concern continues in Medical Community concerning Allegations of Child Abuse

E-Mail Response from Executive Officer from the Society of Pediatric Radiologists. I submitted a letter to the Society of Pediatric Radiologists (SPR) concerning the article in the American Journal of Roentgeneology (AJR) by Dr Ayoub concerning Classic Metaphyseal Lesions CML’s . She advised me that a Letter to the Editor has been approved for publication in the AJR concerning that article.

Here is my reply:

Thank you,
Also, as far as commitment of care and welfare of children everywhere. There is no closer commitment than to those within your own family. Family will always take precedence in any families eyes.  Families are held together by Love. The state, court and any organization can not comprehend or factor in love. When a family fights with all they have and lose it all, the only thing remaining is love. No one can take that away. We are such a family.
Families all across this nation and world wide are pitted against courts. The system feels that all families fight because they are guilty. They feel that the medical community knows beyond a shadow of doubt what they are talking about (on the topic od CML’s and Metabolic conditions). When you factor in the litigation that could ensue if the state is found to have taken a child away from an innocent caregiver. The DA’s and the state worry more about winning than the best interest of the children.

I hope when the Letter to the Editor comes out I agree with it. We all need to conclude that the best interest of the child is at stake.

My conclusion is that experts on both sides are fighting to protect that which is guarded most by our society. Our babies. No one in the profession of taking care of children would ever be a part of allowing harm to come to a baby. Organizations such as yours should be supporting both sides of the isle. Coming to an understanding as to what each individual case is all about, either abuse, accidental or metabolic. Please do not allow the courts to swing a decision just to prevent litigation.
